I MISS YOU is the sophomore album from the little sister of southern soul star L.J. Echols. In concert Krishunda Echols is a bit of a chitlin' circuit anomaly: petite, not large; young, not old; inexperienced, not seasoned. But when she launches her breakthrough single, "Mad Dog 20/20," her tribute to the inexpensive high of blue-collar America, the crowd erupts in recognition. With L.J.'s inspired guitar riff charging the room, the strikingly pretty Krishunda roams the audience with obligatory drink in hand, easily winning over even her most noncommittal spectators.

"Mad Dog 20/20," , the centerpiece of Krishunda's debut CD, Grown & Sexy, isn't reprised on I MISS YOU, and no single cut from the new album rivals her signature tune. The opening track of the new set, a funk exercise called "Wiggle," seems especially out of place and out of character for the young diva. Ms. Echols comes off much better in a kinder, gentler vein like the intimate ballad "I'm Sorry" and the understanding but firm mid-tempo tune, "Mama Said (You Can't Raise Him)," a hold-over from Grown & Sexy.

"Put It On Me" is the best fast cut.
